Dreams, was the first in a series of works conceptually based on the analysis of personalities. In this series I attempted to explore associations with women and personalities.
When we dream our complete personality is revealed. It is at that time when we are closest to whom we really are. In the scene of a dream, the subconscious is the main character bringing forward our fears, passions, wishes and limitations. A large part of our personal growth takes place during our dreams. We are always changing; evolving, devolving, up, down, up, up, up, down, down, down…
This work portrays 9 woman representing 9 different personality types based on a classification method called the Enneagram.
The Enneagram is “a geometric figure that delineates the nine basic personality types of human nature and their complex interrelationships.”
I tried to capture the idea of change through the mix of colors and their reaction to LEDs as a light source. The colors of each piece are designed to react with changing light creating the visual illusion of movement. The installation uses digital control technology that generates and controls millions of colors and dynamic lighting effects.
